I reached out to Premier Lactation after I was having latch issues, which affected my milk supply. I picked them because they did home visits and they accepted my insurance (yes, they take insurance!) Laura Musser was wonderful to work with! Laura was so helpful with identifying and implementing my lactation goals. She also handles a newborn like a pro. You can tell she’s extremely knowledgeable in her field. She came up with a plan that was easy to follow. She did not overwhelm or shame me and was very compassionate. She was extremely helpful and was able to help me latch my baby. She also was very positive and encouraging about getting my milk supply back up which was honestly the best part of the whole encounter, especially with a sleep deprived and overwhelmed mother who is trying to feed her newborn! She even did a very thorough lip/tongue tie assessment. I highly recommend Premier Lactation!

Laura M. was my lactation consultant and I can’t say enough positive things about my experience working with her! I was experiencing a LOT of pain breastfeeding my newborn and I was also dealing with a painful oversupply issue. Laura M helped me fix everything within one visit and my breast feeding journey has gone from anxiety filled and very painful to enjoyable and relatively easy. My baby is healthy and gaining weight above what’s expected. She also is very responsive to my answers over text. I cannot recommend her enough!!!

Laura, the owner, is incredibly helpful and will reach out to you to check up, see how things are going, and offer encouragement and advice after speaking with her.

Unfortunately, she wasn't the consultant with which I met. I worked with Rachel and while she helped us create a plan to get my baby back to gaining weight appropriately, her willingness to reach out and go above and beyond was lacking. Her texting style was very frank (and a little off-putting) and she never reached out to check up on us. I had to contact her. Eventually, I just stopped asking questions or informing her of any updates. For what we paid, I would have preferred more personal service.

Overall, we got the help we needed but I wasn't overly impressed.

Premier Lactation Services is amazing, and I highly recommend to anyone having difficulties with breastfeeding or bottle feeding. Very shortly after being discharged from the hospital, I contacted Laura as my daughter was having difficulties feeding and her latch was very painful. Laura made the time to see us even though her schedule was very busy, which I so so appreciated. Laura diagnosed our daughter with a tongue tie and got us plugged into all the right specialists. She is so knowledgeable, kind and patient. She has been with us through all the ups and downs of my daughter’s feeding journey, and she is always so helpful and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. The home visits also make things so much easier than going to an office to be evaluated. I cannot say enough good things about Laura and PLS!!

When breastfeeding is difficult it requires a team of the right people to help you on that journey. Those people are not very easy to find! I saw three lactation consultants and talked to my OB and Pediatrician about my breast feeding problems prior to reaching out to Laura at Premier Lactation when my son was a few weeks old. I’m so thankful for her help! She’s so knowledgable, and her gentle and calm demeanor made me feel safe. Her assessment of my sons oral function was clearly much more thorough than that of the other providers and was able to help identify the root cause of our feeding issues. Without her, I might have given up on our breast feeding long ago, but we are now 7 months strong and counting!

Laura completely saved my breastfeeding journey. She came out to my house to see me within a day of me contacting her. My daughter had a tongue tie that made breastfeeding very painful. She had also lost a significant amount of weight after coming home. Just when I was about to give up, Laura was able to give me crucial knowledge, hands-on help, and moral support that gave me the confidence and determination to continue. She checked in with me for weeks after our visit, always answering even the silliest of my questions with understanding and love. Because of her help in those crucial early days, I have been able to exclusively breastfeed to this day - almost 9 months later! Thank you thank you thank you, Laura!

Premier Lactation Services is a life saver. My baby was tongue tied and 4 pediatricians missed it. Rachel Crossen visited my home and detected it within minutes. After dealing with mastitis twice and other breastfeeding troubles, Rachel worked closely with me to ensure I had the right pump, the best supplements and that my baby could thrive with breast milk. She taught us so much - what an education! She responds to emails and texts quickly which I really appreciated too when I was stressed. She does house visits, sends a report after with her recommendations and summary, and her fee can be ran through insurance. My baby and I thank you!

Rachel is nice to work, responsive and professional, would highly recommend. But unfortunately their insurance billing is less than favorable. No one tells you that they charge $178 for weighing and checking babies mouth. Rachel informed me that Aetna covers my lactation service 100% and that is true, but apparently the bunch of paper work they send us to sign makes you sign to charge for baby. In the midst of the c section and postpartum, this is totally unacceptable, if I knew they would charge $178 for my child which is not covered then I wouldn’t have elected for them to examine my newborn. So basically a waste of my insurance covering lactation servicing 100% bc they got their money a different way.
